Color Practice Blue- Twilek Jedi


Playing in the blue end of the color wheel this time. Pulled out an old drawing I never got around to painting, made a palette from one of Jon Foster's pieces, and went to town. (Thanks to Melissa Findley for that suggestion.)

color practice- Red Armor (for girls!)


This morning I found out that Windows 7 has a built in color calibration utility.


So i spent time with a copy of spectrum, comparing reds, blues, and greens, and running the util to try to make this lappy's monitor more trustworthy. I then spent a couple hours practicing reds:

Drow v. Mind Flayer WIP preview

It Friday and I'm in a show and tell kinda mood.

SOOOOOOOO here's the current monochrome underpainting WIP of my entry for next week's ArtOrder challenge entry.







I'm an Eberron nut, so I decided to go with a Xen'drik drow for my heroine, trying to stop a group of tentacled servants of Xoriat from letting something out into the world. Nothing against traditional underdark Drow, but I find the Eberron variety more visually interesting.




And just to help with what's going on with the figures, here's the drawing of the two lead dancers in this performance:
